The Ortega 0.8-m Telescope

The new Olin Physical Sciences building features a large dome which houses the Ortega 0.8-m (32-in) telescope. The telescope is funded by the National Science Foundation, Florida Tech, and a generous donation from James and Sarah Ortega. In addition, the building features a large observing deck on the roof, which support 15 eight-inch computer controlled telescopes for use by our students and faculty. We now have Astronomy & Astrophysics Lecture Series. Viewing sessions follow the lectures, weather permitting.
